MANTRA-WE MUST REMAIN NEUTRAL

The must remain neutral mantra was recently re-iterated by Melancthon’s Deputy Mayor at the AWARE meeting held in Alliston, Ontario on June 25.

I guess Melancthon must operate under different legislation than Hamilton, who opposed the Flamborough pit from the very day the first tree was felled.

And different rules than Oshawa, who just reaffirmed its position against an ethanol plant being located at its harbour.

The City officially passed a resolution this week stating it does not want a plant located at the harbour beside the Second Marsh. That resolution was endorsed by Durham Regional Council Wednesday.

    What possible reasons do they have for remaining neutral? Fear of the big Highland bully boys suing them? Perhaps it's time Melancthon Town council stopped tip toeing around and started to "grow some" and I don't mean potatoes!

    God forbid it should cost them, I mean ALL ratepayers money, instead of the grassroots organizations and supporters who are paying for the "official" opposition, despite Melancton Council stepping up to take any credit that is generated by the grassroots organizations.
