THE SWAMPS ARE ALIVE

The swamps are alive with the sounds of peepers.

March 18 no less.

Must be some sort of record.

And for Highlands, who don't really have a lot of farm expertise, my father used to say you could not plant until the peepers had been froze three times.

So we have heard them once, they need to be froze twice more, then Highlands, you can start planting.

Provided that is, you have secured a line of credit.

  1. Grass is turning green, the snowdrops, crocuses and spring irises are out. As are a couple of butterflies and bees. It is rather alarming. A few years ago our water was frozen from January to April. It is only March so I am waiting for the other stone to fall ...
