If you look closely in the background of all of these videos you will (NOT) notice the Mayor of Melancthon.
THE biggest event in the history of Melancthon-yes even bigger than bringing the Stanley Cup home and done to raise funds to fight THE biggest issue in Ontario right now and where is our Mayor.....(insert sound of cricket chirping here)
Not Foodstock, but still this is Minebuster's absolute favourite on anything on the quarry, though they are all great.

Look closely and you might see the Deputy Mayor of Melancthon berating a hapless NDACT volunteer about Melancthon not being profiled at a speaking event to which NDACT was invited. Yes, in front of people showing up to support NDACT there is the Deputy Mayor shooting his mouth off.

ReplyDeleteI would like to take a moment to clear up the false accusation levelled at me here. I did not berate an NDACT volunteer on any issue at foodstock and I am sure if you check with her, ( I will not give her name in case she does'nt want me to) she will tell you we had a nice conversation while I purchased my NDACT hat and a bag to carry my plates etc in. I enjoy speaking with this specific person as I have always found her to be one of the nicest and most dedicated people I have met since moving to Melancthon.
The conversation started with me introducing my family to her and followed with me asking how the speaking engagements at the schools went. I mentioned that Highlands seems to get a lot of oppertunities to sell their proposal to the public, and I said I felt the in some of these forums, the Township should be offered a chance to speak about our roles and responsibilities with regards to the application. I commented that her daughter is an excellent speaker on this subject and that she speaks with passion and conviction. I may have asked how her husband is doing as I hadn't seen him but I am not sure. That was the extent of the conversation, no berating, no fighting, no shouting.
I have always been upfront about my opposition to this quarry proposal. I have always been a supporter of NDACT and its members, and I have always said that NDACT has a tremendously important role as the leading community group in this fight. I have a great deal of respect for the volunteer that I was talking to and her whole family and for someone to try and use that in a negative way serves no purpose.
I am always available to discuss this or any other issue with anyone, as I prefer to work towards narrowing the gap between Council and concerned ratepayers, not expanding it with insults and false accusations. This type of thing does not help at all, in fact it hurts more than anything. While some people want to drive a wedge further between council and the public, Highlands sits back and laughs. This is a battle tested strategy, "devide and conquer". Lets all try to get on the same page.
The witnesses should perhaps check with the volunteer to find out what really happened instead of accusing without the facts.

ReplyDeleteWell I saw him in action at the Council meeting where he was pissed at the meeting investigator for doing their job and mad at the public and it was nasty.

ReplyDeleteWell how about that, my post with a description of what happened in the conversation was deleted by minebuster....... I know it was published because some people who read it called me to let me know. Once again this supposed "fair" site picks and chooses what is posted in the comment section again.
ReplyDeleteI mean really you can post what you want, its your site after all but don't call yourself fair when you censor people. I even signed my comment so everyone would know who it was from, unlike my accusers who did it under the guise of anonymity.
I am willing to discuss the quarry issue or any other issue, including the closed session investigation 439, with anyone at any time. I am even willing to set something up publically if thats what anyone wants.

This happens to every single person who posts here and on most blogs. (Sorry, you are not special.) Otherwise all those penis enhancer advertisements and opportunities to send your money to Brazil will post authomatically. Minebuster does NOT delete or edit comments unless they sway into the liable area, like calling someone a crook. You ARE right though, it IS my blog and I NEVER EVER indicated or even gave the impression that this is a fair forum. My blog, my bias. No apology required though for accusing me of something which I did not do. By the way, instead of reading stupid blogs which mean nothing and put your blood pressure up, why don't you get moving on an Official Plan?
