WELL BULLY FOR LONGYUAN OR LONGYUAN THE BULLY?

Thanks for forwarding this information to Minebuster-everyone who reads this, please forward to your MPP.

And make no mistake.

This NEVER would have happened, nor would anyone have invited these bullies into our Township without the Liberal government's tax funded vote grabber, I mean Green Energy Act.

I would BET this green initiative has cost tax payers more than the cancelled gas plant fiasco.

"Dufferin Wind Power has filed an application to expropriate the Rail Line from the county of Dufferin.

Included in the application is a request to be allowed to expropriate portions of the lands of 3 private property owners along the line in Amaranth Township ,and portions of the lands of 3 other landowners in the Township of Melancthon. The Melancthon landowners are part of the wind project.

For the curious (and the outraged), here is the link to the application:

All of these private landowners refused to accept the terms offered by the company, so the solution is, for the BULLY that is Dufferin Wind, steal the land from the owners. This is really an outrage, but no surprise, given the dealings of Dufferin Wind.

Just wanted you to know some of the truth about the "good neighbour" (their words, not mine) that has been "invited" into our community. Shame on those who did the inviting.

P.S. Please forward this to everyone else you know in the Township (and beyond). Make some noise!!"

TROUBLE WITH TURBINES....

"...What the Liberals have actually done is to replace coal with natural gas. (Natural gas, also a fossil fuel, burns more cleanly than coal.)

Which brings us to wind power, and the fact that never has so much been spent by so many — us — to generate so little electricity, so inefficiently."

DUFFERIN WIND AKAK FARM OWNED POWER/LONGYUAN POWER NOT BEING A VERY NICE PART OF THE COMMUNITY

The Township of Melancthon is being forced into court  because the Chinese wind turbine company seems to feel none of the rules apply to them.

'Back in March, however, Dufferin Wind informed Melancthon council that it planned to temporarily store its wind turbines at Strada Aggregate’s facility in Melancthon.
According to Hill, council determined that wouldn’t comply with the township’s planning rules. Melancthon officials informed Dufferin Wind that the storage plan would require a zoning or Official Plan amendment.
http://www.orangeville.com/news-story/3900838-dufferin-wind-and-melancthon-to-square-off-in-court/

Roberts said Dufferin Wind, which is owned by a North American subsidiary of China Longyuan Power Group Corporation Limited and Farm Owned Power (Melancthon) Ltd., aims to support local businesses whenever possible.'
Now why would our “local farmers” want to take their own municipality to court?

And why would Strada be a party to this?

And it would appear the local business Dufferin Wind is supporting is the legal profession.

BONNEFIELD

Tom Eisenhauer, President Bonnefield

Website:
http://bonnefield.com/index.php?page=Outlook-For-Canadian-Farmland

From a Globe and Mail 2011 article:

"If I could take money from non-Canadians, I'd be retired by now. But we adhere to farmland-ownership restrictions in Saskatchewan and Manitoba which means all our investors must be individual Canadian citizens.

Overwhelming response. But our approach is different: We're not going into these small communities, perusing the MLS listings and buying up farms. If you do that, you make yourself really unpopular in the local Tim Hortons because invariably there's some farmer who's had his eye on that property for years. Then some guy from Bay Street shows up to buy it."

Market Watch article
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/bonnefield-research-paper-examines-rising-values-of-canadian-farmland-2012-10-18
"Bonnefield Financial has just released a new research paper, The Economic Value of Farmland, that examines the rising costs of Canadian farmland from the perspective of Canadian farmers."

Several articles about the sale of the land to Bonnefield with quotes that you hope don’t come back to bite them, aka Team Highlands/Lowndes/Daniher

"Bonnefield representatives have stated publicly that the farmland will be used for farming"
http://globalnews.ca/news/726606/land-at-centre-of-mega-quarry-fight-sold/

"in a phone interview, Mr. Eisenhauer insisted Bonnefield is only interested in agriculture. “Our investors want exposure to farming,” he said. “They don’t want exposure to oil and gas, or quarries for that matter.”

http://www.theprovince.com/business/Mega+quarry+land+north+Toronto+bought+burgeoning+farm+fund+Bonnefield/8673369/story.htmlSpeaking

“We spent the first two years just going about the country and talking to farmers about how we could do this and what their needs are,” he said. “We raised our first fund in 2010, but it was frankly our own money to get the ball rolling.”

BAUPOST BAILS

"We have just learned that the Class 1 farmland we have fought so hard to protect in Melancthon has been sold to Canadian investors who say the land will continue to be farmed! Bonnefield Financial now owns Highland's potato fields. We're going to look further into this company, but at this point, we must take the president's quote at face value: "Here we have Canadian investors, supporting Canadian farmers to ensure that one of our most precious resources – farmland – continues to be used for farming."

This news, however, does not stop our efforts to change Ontario's Aggregate Resources Act. Ontario's prime farmland and source water must be priority

WHY I DECLARE THAT BILL HAS DECLARED

In the July 11, 2013 edition of the Shelburne Free Press, Melancthon Mayor Bill Hill, in a letter to the editor, declares his intention to seek the position of Warden of the County of Dufferin for the 2014 term.

He outlines his vast and considerable experience and states that there appears to be considerable support for his desire to serve as Warden.

Well, good for him.

One of his stated priorities is the implementation of the County Official Plan.

No denying he has considerable experience at that.

It has been at LEAST 8 years and thousands of $$$ that Melancthon has been trying to get an Official Plan passed, during which the entire time Bill sat on Council.

So if you want him to get the County OP passed during his term of Warden, better be prepared for a Warden that sits at least 8 years.....

IF IT WEREN'T FOR AGRICULTURAL LAND AND RURAL ONTARIO......

Just think, if it weren't for agricultural land and rural Ontario, there would be no where for the urbanites to ship their garbage, generate their "green" wind power, ship their offal material or obtain their source water....and now....nuclear waste.

http://users.xplornet.com/~dbaylis/AWARE/Issues/Nuclear_DGRP/OPG%20DGR%20Huron%20Overview.htm
.... to approve its proposal to bury low and intermediate level radioactive nuclear waste under the Bruce Nuclear Power Plant site, directly on the shore of Lake Huron, in the Municipality of Kincardine, Ontario.

Called a Deep Geological Repository, DGR or Nuclear Waste Dump, the 31 burial caverns are planned to be 680 metres below the ground carved out of limestone, and will extend to approximately 400 metres from Lake Huron.

OPG suggests that the Nuclear Waste Dump will safely hold its radioactive contents for 100,000 years. Is it reasonable to conclude that an unmonitored Nuclear Waste Dump will contain its radioactive contents for 100,000 years? The Great Lakes were created only 12,000 years ago.

But it might be closer to home than you think, particularly if they are looking to bury it in "limestone":

http://www.caledonenterprise.com/news-story/3843438-third-ontario-nuclear-waste-site-possible-in-the-orangeville-area/
Decommissioning low and intermediate level waste (LLW and ILW) will be disposed of at a regional disposal facility located in Ontario, approximately equidistant from OPG’s five nuclear stations.”

That could conceivably place the proposed site somewhere in the Orangeville area, suggested Brennain Lloyd of Northwatch, who first noticed the proposal in a blizzard of documents filed with the safety commission. Northwatch is a coalition of environmental and community groups in northeastern Ontario.

BUBBLE ABOUT TO BURST?

Rumours everywhere about Highlands selling, NOT selling, selling to Chinese, selling ONLY to people who are not part of NDACT.... who knows?

But perhaps this is the reason they are selling:

Are farmland investments heading for a barn bubble?
http://www.bbc.com/capital/story/20130604-headed-for-a-barn-bubble
Farmland has become the darling of alternative investing, sending hedge funds and wealthy investors into bidding wars for plots of land once deemed ordinary. And it is not just big money getting in on the game.....

Some investors may not even know that they, too, own faraway farmland, particularly those who have money in pension funds......

From Stockholm to Chicago to Vancouver, ordinary investor money is pouring into fields around the world. And there are some jitters that land prices in soil-rich states like Illinois have risen too fast.

With some types of investment off limits — some states like Iowa and Minnesota prohibit institutions from owning land — ownership prohibitions may be artificially contributing contributed to price increases in other states.

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE FLY HER TO THE MOON-SERIOUSLY

Here she goes again.....

"This is the second action the deputy mayor has commenced again the same three councillors.  The previous one, launched in 2010, alleges defamation of character."
http://www.citizen.on.ca/news/2013-07-11/Regional_News/Mulmur_township_councillors_face_second_lawsuit.html

Defamation of character? Wow, wouldn't you have to be of good character to suffer from defamation?

At least she had the good sense not to sue herself, unlike the last lawsuit. She filed that one against the Council of the Township of Mulmur. I guess she forgot she WAS a member of Council, ipso facto, she sued herself. Wonder if she will settle with herself out of court?

And she may think she is going to win in court, but word on the street is she has lost in the court of public opinion.

CRUX OF THE COUNTY PROBLEM

Words more true were never spoken, by the CAO of the County of Dufferin no less, which explains clearly the problem with the County system as it now stands:

“(Mulmur’s) vote was a no anyway,” Pritchard said. “It doesn’t change the triple majority.”
