  1. My heart breaks for this family and ALL families that continue to be impacted by companies that roll over individual rights and lives and care NOTHING for the devastation that's left in its wake. How can citizens fight back when we're confronted with lies and bullying and millions of dollars to keep us mute? This is a reminder that our fight against Highland/Baupost is only one of many, but it makes our battle that much more important. There is not enough money in the world to keep us MUTE.

  2. This is a fight against arrogant and corrupt government, from municipal to federal, whose job should be to work in the best interests of Canadian citizens, NOT their own and that of corporations. Our so called government is allowing these corporate interlopers to run roughshod over decent Canadians...case in point ....the mayor of Orangeville.....in bed with Highland. How on earth can it be permissible for Highland to pay the Orangeville railway tax bill???? . There are too many gaping legal holes in this ship that is Canada. Instead of stopping the hemorrhage our wretched politicians have the audacity to call us terrorists! Well, that's the living end! Canadians are now starting to wake up from a long political slumber ....it's about bloody time and I hope Canadian values win the day.

  3. I agree with you, 6:31. As disgusting as the current political situation is, I do NOT believe the Canadian people will allow the federal and provincial governments to continue to make decisions that completely destroy the lives of citizens simply to benefit Big Business and line their own pockets. The mayor of Orangeville looks like a greedy ass and he has the support of NONE of his consituents, this is all about self-interest and its transparency is embarrassing. Stephen Harper's living in an imaginary world where he is emperor, but he's as naked as can be and we all can see his shortcomings. There are rumblings afoot, it's the sound of "polite" Canadians getting fed-up with the lies, the arrogance, and the greed. I, for one, am looking forward to the uprising and I'd like th think that our powerful voices fighting the mega travesty in Melancthon are adding fuel to the fire.....

  4. I think you are right 3.33 a.m. Sadly, it takes atrocities like the Mega Quarry to shake us out of our malaise, however, once mustered, Canadians are a force to be reckoned with. 'Still waters run deep', now there's a double entendre, a perfect slogan for the anti mega quarry movement.

  5. Hard to feel sorry for the small farmers who thought they could take on a big company and big government and win.

  6. Well, in THIS case the small farmers were completely rolled-over by a big company and big government, and my heart breaks for them. However, in the case of Highland/Baupost verses everything that is decent and moral and valuable on this planet, the farmers (and those supporting them) WILL win. Stay tuned, we are a force that is only gaining steam....
